30 Photo Challenge

I found this while on a procrastination-from-room-tidying-spree and it's meant to be a 30 day challenge, but I'm gonna just put them all in the same blog.
Also the main reason I'm doing this is that it's more procrastination and means I don't have to be tidying my room (Y)

So here goes: My 30 Photo Challenge:

1) A photo of yourself with 10 facts.
1) I have possibly the strangest musical tastes ever
2) I don't know what I'd do without my dog
3) I don't like my uni course, but I'm hoping it's just a first year thing
4) My hair looks like a wig right now
5) I'm too ashamed to go to the hair dressers because I messed up a dye job and my roots are bright red
6) I have a book/tv obsession
7) One of my most prized possessions is my replica Harry Potter wand
8) I collect 'nerdy' mugs
9) I have a massive spider phobia
10) I found over 50 TY beanie babies in my room that I collected as a child

2)A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest

It's sad but true.

3) A picture of the cast from your favorite show

This was difficult because I have so many, but in the end I had to choose the tv show that I've got a t-shirt, mug, 2 posters, and the first 5 seasons of.

4) A picture of your night
The fun memories of tonight will live on forever
NOT

5) A picture of your favourite memory

Again, a hard one, as there's so many; but I went for Aviemore, August 2009, at the Harley Davidson motorbike convention with my dad, Kyle and his dad in a caravan for 3 days.

6) A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day

Do I even need to explain this? She's funny, witty, brilliant and I'd love to get inside her head for a day.

7) A picture of your most treasured item

This is a real diamond necklace that my great Grandad bought for my great Granny (we think for either a wedding or anniversary present), which my Gran wore on her wedding day, my Mum wore at her Graduation where she also got engaged to my Dad, and which I wore to prom.

8) A picture that makes you laugh

Just look in Melissa's eyes for a few seconds without laughing; I dare you.

You laughed, didn't you?

9) A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most

Cheeseballs again, but who cares.

10) A picture of the person you do the weirdest things with

The picture says it all really.

11) A picture of something you hate

Ew. Food just should not be crunchy. Unless it's a Crunchie

12) A picture of something you love

I had to go for Merlin, I just had to.

13) A picture of your favorite band or artist

There are so many different bands and artists I listen to, but this is the only one which I have all the songs that they've done (except for little white lie, but shh)

14) A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without

I never even knew this photo existed: Yay for Facebook stalking!

15) A picture of something you want to do before you die

I'm joking, I'm joking! Although I wouldn't say no. Who would?

I want to visit The Wonderful Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida

16) A picture of someone who inspires you

Just read about her; she went from nothing, getting rejected so many times, to becoming the first author to become a Billionaire, before losing her billionaire status because she gave so much money away to charity. And she still lives in a rather modest house in Edinburgh (modest for how much money she's worth)

17) A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently

I know sixth year isn't all that recent, but I can't think of anything else.
I had a pretty crappy fifth year, so the end of fifth year and then sixth year changed who I was as a person. I became more confident in myself and around others, more trustworthy and a better judge of character. It contains my best memories of high school, and is where I really cemented the friendships that I know I'll have for life.

18) A picture of your biggest insecurity

Ah the dreaded insecurity photo.
I would say I have two: my nose, and my personality. Now bear with me on this
I used to like my nose, I escaped the 'Gaffney nose' as it's known from my mum's side of the family where practically everyone has a bump in their nose. I didn't have it, until I got my nose broken a few years back and it never fully healed, leaving me with a Gaffney nose. *cries*
Now, the personality. I'm not being like "I hate everything about myself, give me compliments!". But yeah there are definitely things I would change: I'm shy around new people, I don't trust easily, I can be confrontational, I get annoyed easily, I'm lazy, I could continue but I won't for your own sanity. Don't worry, there are things I like about my personality, just the aforementioned things are not some of them.

19) A picture of you when you were little
This was just before my hair started growing in brown, leaving my looking like I hadn't had my roots done in a while

20) A picture of somewhere you'd love to travel

It's got surfing, beaches, sun and Lilo and Stitch. What more could you possibly want?

21) A picture of something you wish you could forget

How ill my Gran looked from about May until the 26th September 2008. I hated it. RIP Gran <3

22) A picture of something you wish you were better at
Can I say 'any talent'?
I'll settle for singing though: I can hit notes but I sound like a strangled cat while doing so and I wish I even just had a decent voice.

23) A picture of your favorite book
WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME? THERE'S SO MANY!
I'll go for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone because I was given this book at Christmas 1999 when I was five and a half, and I read it that day in about 4 hours. My parents had always made me read and so I enjoyed it, but this was the book that really showed me how books can take you to new worlds, and really showed me how good books can really be. It made me into the book fanatic that I am today.

24) A picture of something you wish you could change

There are things I could write that would be waay too personal, and there are things like "wish my Gran hadn't died" but obviously things like that happen for a reason, and we can't change them.
Merlin however, grrr

25) A picture of your day

Revenge of the Sith; Revenge of The 5th? Geddit, geddit.... no? Just me? Ok :(

26) A picture of something that means a lot to you

I should point out that I was sitting with my eyes closed when Lauren stole my phone and Ellie sniffed my face because I'd just been eating profiteroles. There was no facial licking involved here; I just think it's a really cute photo.

27) A picture of yourself and a family member

Have two family members for the price of one!

28) A picture of something you're afraid of

There was no way in hell I was going to google spiders. Absolutely no way.
So I googled loneliness instead and this came up.
After spiders, (and speedbumps, but I'm getting over that slowly), I'm most scared of being left alone with no one. *cries*

29) A picture that can always make you smile

The lying down pose might be planned, but I love how genuine everyone's faces/reactions are and it always makes me smile because we genuinely look happy here :)

30) A picture of someone you miss
Because although I miss you all when everyone's away doing uni stuff, I haven't seen Beth for about 8 months :)

So although it was probably boring, this took me ages and I hope you can enjoy it :)

PS, as a special bonus for reaching the end of this, here's the picture of what happened directly after picture 26 after Ellie really did lick my face:
That makes me laugh

Life, Hamsters and Holidays, and Revolution

So admittedly it's been a whiiile since I blogged, but honestly there's not been that much that's happened recently that's out of the ordinary.
So this blog is basically a short highlight reel of the last 2 months, and then I'm going to discuss Revolution for a bit, because Revolution should always be discussed, but more on that later.

So, life. It's still going, fortunately for me.
Thinking back over the last two months there has genuinely not been anything really interesting to happen. My mum had her operation to get her tumor removed, and it turns out it wasn't attached to an ovary or bowel like they feared and instead was basically hanging from her abdominal wall. Annoyingly this means that only 2 and a weeks after the operation she drove for the first time today. I have loved being the sole driver of Lily, and just getting to go out when I wanted but sadly that freedom is no more. Mel Gibson would be disappointed in me. Sorry Mel. #sadface

Also, I tidied my room a few weeks ago and found DVDs of all six Star Wars films. It shows how messy my room is that I have no idea how they got there, and no idea that I even had the dvds. But hey, Saturday is May the 4th, so at least I now have the dvds to watch for Star Wars Day.

If the title wasn't enough of a spoiler alert I got hamsters last week. Flash and Robin; named after Kid Flash and Robin, two of the founding members of Young Justice (in the tv series at least). Unfortunately, it turns out Flash was an evil little bastard which was proved as he flipped his brother over one night and proceeded to eat his throat Walking Dead style. It wasn't much fun trying to separate them, I'll tell you that. After a night spent in the bathtub because we had nowhere else to put him, Flash was returned to Pets At Home and Robin became sole occupier of his rather large cage. And how has he thanked me for saving his life? He deliberately bites my finger and holds on every time I put my hand in the cage. Feeling the love.

Also, I tried dying my hair red again on Monday night. This happened:

I don't know if you can see it properly, but the roots went bright red, the majority of my hair was brown and the ends were black. It was awful. I then redyed it brown on Tuesday, and attempted to redye it red on Thursday, but it hasn't really worked. Ah well, I'll give it a month and try again. And yes, that is what my hair looks like if I let it dry naturally, even when it was brushed when wet, and then again in the morning.
Also I've just noticed that Spider-Man's face lines up with my own. This makes me happy.

On to the holidays part. I left my exam early at 10.58 after nearly breaking down because when I opened my paper my brain went "How do I science?" and continued to fail me for the entire exam. Thanks Brain. But anyway: HOLIDAYS. Until the 9th of September! (Unless I fail and have to do resits in the summer) But woo! 135 days of holidays. I had a solo chippy to celebrate while crying at how bad White Chicks was. Because seriously, it's awful.

So yeah, life hasn't been all that interesting. But now you're caught up on it.

Oh my god: Revolution.
It's crap. But weirdly, this is what makes it so good. It was created by Eric Kripke (creator of Supernatural; which I love and is on season 8), so I thought I would check it out. I don't know what happened to Eric Kripke, but I think the creative part of his brain must have been damaged somehow before he wrote this show.
There's not one bad aspect; it's several things that make it bad. Billy Burke who plays the main guy seems to have about one facial expression, the characters make stupid decisions all the time (Especially Charlie, but I'll talk about her in a minute), 15 years have passed since the flashbacks but only the kids have visibly aged at all (seriously they don't even attempt to make them look younger), various plot points are made to seem incredibly important, but are never brought up again, while things that are mentioned vaguely suddenly seem to change everything.
But oh lord: Charlie. To sum up the premise without spoiling it, all the power has gone out in the world: batteries, electricity, even cars. Everything. The show starts 15 years later, when some Militia guys turn up to a small village to take a man (Ben) away to their leader because Ben knows stuff about the power. Ben's son  Danny then acts like an asshole and threatens to shoot a crossbow at the 20-odd guys who are armed with machine guns. Yep, Danny's an idiot. Ben gets shot, and Danny gets kidnapped by the militia leaving his sister Charlie to get him back with the help of her Uncle.
It sounds like it could be alright. But every little thing the characters do is just so stupid, and so random and so unlike previous decisions they've made. Especially Charlie, who seems to run into situations and then ending up needed saved. Which she does at least once or twice an episode. The best episodes are when Charlie gets punched in the face.

And yet the weird thing with the show is that it's great. It's great because it's so bad. It's great because you want to see just how stupid the characters (CHARLIE) can be, you want to see if it can get any worse. And weirdly enough there was a point about midway through the season where it got kind of good. But don't worry! The last episode aired so far was back to it's crappy ways.

I'm not going to talk about this for too long, because I could genuinely discuss Revolution's crappy ways for hours. But I also keep watching it because it's great. So basically I'm just urging you all to watch it. Even just the pilot episode: and then let me know what you thought of it. It's only 42 minutes of your time, and you never know, you might end up like me and love it for being rubbish.
So yeah, watch it and comment here what you thought: I'd love to know (no sarcasm here). I know I love it, purely because it's so shit.

Goodnight my friends!

The Perfect Man

Strange title, but bear with me.
Basically today Lauren and I were discussing what characteristics and features we'd put into a guy if we could create the perfect boyfriend.

Lauren being 13 was all 'cool, must have swag, buy me sweets, not be as good as me on Mario Kart'.
Turns out that I on the other hand am a little big more picky.
So here's my list for the perfect boyfriend:
(Note this person probably doesn't exist)

Features:

1) Height: Call me traditional, but the guy should always be taller. Not like Hulk-sized, but taller anyway.

2) Brown hair (or black). Brown haired guys are just so much more attractive and I don't even know why. (Ryan Gosling and the Hemsworth clan are the exceptions here). Seriously though, look at a list of hot male celebrities or whatever, and brown haired guys will dominate the list. Fact of life.

3) No beard. None. Imagine how scratchy it would be *shudders*. I will only concede on this point if he is one of those guys who reeeally suits facial hair, but I will still never accept Gandalf beardage.

And any other features I really aren't that fussed about. I mean Colin Morgan-sized cheekbones are a plus, but not a must.

Characteristics/Personality:

1) Smart. Not genius level or anything, but a guy being really dumb is just horrible. He's got to be able to hold a decent conversation.

2) He's got to like watching tv or going to the cinema. Not sitting for hours vegetating in front of a tv, but he's got to be able to sit and watch a few hours of Supernatural or Chuck a week. Just a few.

3) Funny. If you're in a long lasting relationship the person has to be able to make you laugh. Not all the time, because it would start to hurt, but he's got to be able to crack a few jokes or make the occasional witty comment.

4) Either put up with some of my nerdier aspects, or even bring some of his own nerd-age to the table. Pretty self explanatory this one.

5) Be easygoing. I'm not particularly uptight, so it would annoy me if he was. He's got to be quite laid back, but not so laid back that he's horizontal.

6) Respectful. Again pretty self explanatory. He's got to respect himself, me, friends, family, random animals on the street. This one is a two way street though.

7) Not be OCD about cleaning. As anyone who has ever seen my bedroom will know, I'm not overly fussed about it being clean. So he cannot be a clean freak, or every conversation would become about that one time I skipped hoovering for a few days.

8) Spontaneous. I always wish I was more spontaneous, but I don't really get the chance to be. So if he was, life would be great.

--------------
And he's also got to: get all my references and make his own, like Lord of the Rings, Merlin and Harry Potter, not be allergic to Ellie, get along with my family (majorly important) and with my friends, not be a smoker or alcoholic or drug addict, not be a health freak, like playing Lego games, like the xBox, not be judgmental, not be a douche, and allow me enough wall/shelf space for all my posters/dvds and books.

So there you have it: if I could create the perfect man (or the perfect man for me), this is what he would be like.
Obviously I know that no one will ever be all these things, but I never once said this list was realistic, it's merely the ultimate level of boyfriend material EVER.

And hey, if any of you guys have any ideas for your perfect partner, either write them in a comment here or create your own blog (MELISSA).

Caitlin out bitches
(see, he'd get that reference)

Hair, Stupidity, Slacking and TV shows

Everyone else (excluding MELISSA and Emily) wrote a blog, so PRESSURE.

Finally got that hair cut I said I needed at the end of the last blog. About an 8 inch hair cut. Which is great and all but I've just realised I spent £75 on hair extensions that I can't even use anymore. Because I'm *such* a smart person. (note the sarcasm).

But I must admit I've already noticed that the hair has had a profound affect on me! Let me explain: normally whenever I go clubbing with Fisher (tall and blonde: god help me) she is either constantly being chatted up, or I'm left by myself while she's pulling EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE CLUB.

WELL NOT THIS TIME. This time the roles were reversed. Don't worry, I didn't pull anyone (much to my mother's annoyance and confusion) but I got chatted up about 30 times. Yay me. I did shoot every single one down, but still counts! #yay.
Although Fisher did shout "£1 to whoever gets a pull first", ran up to this random guy and started pulling him while I just stood at the side and finished her drink. And in typical Fisher fashion it backfired as the guy came back to hers to use her loo and god knows what else happened while I was asleep downstairs, and he ended up nicking my bus fare and her purse when he left. That's right, he was a real classy guy.

Remember that "psycho-social" module I mentioned a blog or two ago? Turns out it's a Second Year module. It was listed on stuff we were given as a first year module, but this explains why I know no one in it. And why it makes no sense. I think my plan is the teach the work to myself, attempt the exam and see if I can pass without going to any lectures. I'll be getting awards for being a positive role model any day now, just you wait.

In another throwback to the last blog I finally managed to fix my mistake and buy Chuck Season 2. Although I do now have season 1 that HMV won't take back as it's not broken. Stupid Caitlin. And much to my parents dismay I watched 7 or 8 episodes a night in a row for 3 days and watched the entire season. I was happy, they weren't exactly: no idea why... And I spend more money I don't have and bought the first season of Psych; because Psych is amazing and hugely underrated and everyone should love it.

As I type this the 13 year old sister is watched Noddy in Toyland. Not even old episodes that she's rewatching because she loves them. She's watching the new series. This is the same girl who slags me off for watching shows that millions of adults watch as well as kids. This is the same girl who told me the other day that she's had at least 4 boyfriends. This is the girl that makes me worry more and more about both her and her generation every single day. *cries*

*POSITIVE ENDING ALERT*
It took me a few weeks but I learned to count and realised I have a 3 day week and a 4 day weekend. This makes me verrrry happy.

And now to end with a picture of my face, because I like torturing you all.

Assassins, iPhones and Chuckiversarys

Decided to change my title format from the previous blog onwards, deal wiv it bruv.
On with the blog!

I've spent nearly every night of the past fortnight playing Assassin's Creed 3. I kind of suck at it, but I'm getting better, so yay for me. Plus Sarah had 4 friends over on friday and when they walked into me assassinating some guards with a wine glass in my hand they said I was pretty cool. Take that Sarah. Muaha.

But don't worry guys, I won't be assassinating you anytime soon. Given my track record I'd be more likely to kill myself by mistake than kill anyone else on purpose.
Fun fact of the day: The first literary use of the word 'assassination' was by Shakespeare in MacBeth. See, you learn stuff from me. Not just a pretty face.

Fiiiinally got an iPhone, and I have instantly become one of *those* people. You know the sort, they just sit on a sofa (or if you're a slow walker in my house; the floor) and play games for hours. Many many hours. I'm that person. Whether I'm playing Bike Race against the kid I babysit, Angry Gran Run, Temple Run 2 or even the occasional Stupid Zombie; I think I'm addicted. Not overly addicted, I still have plenty of time for tv. But still quite addicted.

Talking of tv leads me onto the last point mentioned in the title for this blog. Chuck. Weirdly enough Blogger is telling me that 'iPhones' is spelled wrong, but 'Chuckiversarys' isn't. Maybe Blogger is just super cool. But yeah, Sunday 27th was the first anniversary since Chuck finished. And man do I miss it. Chuck was one of those rare shows that mixes drama, comedy, action and romance perfectly. The cast was superb, the writing was amazing and the show was just generally awesome. I'm glad that it got a decent ending, but I still resent the fact that there was an ending. Chuck should have run for years longer than it did. I want more Chuck #sadface. So yeah, Saturday I watched the first season and a half, Sunday the remainder of Season 2 and all of 3 and some of 4, today (Monday) I've just got 2 episodes of season 4 left and it's on to Season 5: the final season: SOB.
So yeah, I'm all emotional. You would be too if you watched Chuck. #NerdHerdForLife

TIGERLILYS. If you've never been (excluding Rhona, who still isn't allowed in), GO. You've been missing out.

Photo: Chocolate fondue and cocktails!Chocolate fondue and highly alcoholic cocktails.

Tigerlily's <3

Oh, another thing that's made me highly emotional is the fact that we've started doing Chemical calculations in uni. Another name for these is mindless torture. The less said about calculations, the better.

I did a very stupid thing the other day. I thought I'd bought Chuck season 2 from HMV (I had it in my hand).  When I got home I put it in the dvd shelf, thought it was odd that it had the same design on the spine (poet!) as Season 1 and realised I've bought season 1 again. I'm an idiot. The universe just loves finding new ways to prove it to me.

And something looong overdue is happening this week: I'm booking a haircut. My first one in 8 months: scary stuff. I'm just planning on a trim, but I get nervous in the hairdressers so I might end up bald or something. I should explain that when hairdressers do my hair it turns out looking waay thinner than when I do it because they have to straighten it so much to cut it properly. This just leaves me super anxious worried that they've thinned it too much. But my hairdresser is awesome so she'd never do that. Doesn't stop me worrying though. So yeah, if it looks bad please don't mention it.

Anyway, it's now 0103am, I've got a dog to walk, a hot chocolate to make, truffles to eat and Chuck episodes to load.
G'night mate

Bad Days and Scary Sisters

"How was your day Caitlin?" IT WAS BAD.

So the day lulled me into a false sense of security in the morning when I received an email saying that my morning lecture had been cancelled. All good so far. Then I fell asleep, woke up at half 12 and had to rush out the door to university. I actually got to take the car, mostly because my mother was half asleep when I asked.
On the whole, the day was alright so far. And then all of a sudden it wasn't. In a big way.

I managed to drive to Currie with everything going fine when the car started juddering and making a weird noise. Managed to pull over before the car cut out. Which was bad. Called my dad expecting help but I was told "I'm busy concentrating on the roads in a blizzard, phone the RAC and pretend to be your mum". So long story short it took the RAC TWO FUCKING HOURS to send out a tow truck, by which point I had nearly frozen to death because there was no heating in the car and I forgot a jumper. I then spent an hour in a  random garage where it turned out that when my dad had moved the car out of the driveway and into the street last night he had flooded the engine. So at least there wasn't a major problem and the car is fine now.

Although the RAC and garage people believed I was a 43 year old woman. Which is bad.

So yay, a fun day.

But one thing tonight made my day slightly better. Me and my sister Sarah found our wee sister Lauren's ask.fm page.
And oh my god it's hilarious.
She literally lied in every single question, and we have no idea why.

For example, we found out today that we have family friends: brothers named Sam and Dean. Coincidentally these people seemed to pop up when Lauren started watching Supernatural...
We also found out that a year ago in February, Sam committed suicide leaving us all heartbroken. Lauren was 'dating' Dean at the time but broke up with him because of her grief at Sam's death.
Dean also keeps posting paragraphs on the ask.fm page begging Lauren to take him back because she's the only girl he's ever loved.
Weirdly enough he makes the exact same spelling mistakes Lauren does.
Oddly enough I'd never heard about my 'old family friend' Sam's suicide.
Bizarrely enough THESE PEOPLE DO NOT EXIST.

And if that's not the most bizarre story to make up, I don't know what is.
(Although she did say in another answer that I was 'funny and cute' so she's clearly getting some stuff right)

Oh, and I also missed the part were she 'ran away from home and lived with gran for a week'. I think my memory's going.
Also the emoticon at the end of this q&a worries me:
What is your relationship status?
Single ;)
The kid is 13. Damn right she's single and should be for at least 2 more years. NO WINKY FACES FOR 13 YEAR OLDS! CHANGE THE LAWS.

Seriously my sisters are going to be the death of me. If it's not Lauren's friends constantly talking about the fact that since starting high school she's 'gone out with' Kyle, Fin (who isn't real), Dean (again, fake), Cammy, Craig, Keiron and Jack, it's Sarah tweeting about sex.
Here's some examples:

""Can we cuddle" no but I can finger you"

"@_erinjane tongue piercings make you better at blowjobs, just saying;)" TO MY 15 YEAR OLD COUSIN

"I swallowed your cum, the least you could do is text back" (A retweet but still!)

My wee sister ladies and gentlemen. And people wonder why I worry.
At least she broke up with the boyfriend, one last thing to worry about. Although when you describe your boyfriend as "really ugly, annoying and an idiot" it's pretty obvious the relationship won't last long..

So yeah, once again I'm the nerdy, immature one of the family being "out-matured" by my sisters as they put it.

But I would much rather be the way I am than be all lying-er-y and trying to seem way cooler than I am by always talking about sex.

And we'll see who has the last laugh in the future bitches ;)

"I'm Blogging Here, I'm Blogging Here!"

So I'm bored, and I'm writing a blog before uni tomorrow. Deal with it.

So far my 2013's been pretty awesome, but there's not much time for anything to have gone wrong, so its probably not an indicator for the year as a whole.
There has been two bad things, but more on those later. Yeah, watch me build up suspense and tension.

What have been the good things that have happened you ask?
To be honest in the grand scale of good things to happen in the world, they probably don't rank very highly, or even at all, but for me they were pretty great.
PS. Saw The Hobbit last year, but it was AMAZING and I'm seeing it again with the wee sister this week for her birthday.

1) After 3 months Young Justice came back. And it was kick-ass. To be fair it's always kick-ass, but Before The Dawn was really just an excellent 22 minutes of television. By anyone's standards. And if you don't trust me, trust tv.com; they reviewed it and loved it too.

2) I rewatched all 3 seasons of Avatar: The Last Airbender. I know that out of two things on this list so far they've both been 'kids' tv shows, but seriously you cannot judge either by their intended audience. A:TLA won sooo many awards and was constantly named one of the best animation series ever by both adults and children alike. I fell in love quite late, in October 2007 on my flight to Florida, where I spent all 9 hours of the overnight flight solely watching it. It's seriously brilliant. The story is so original and engrossing, and the animation is simply stunning and breathtaking. Seriously, if you've never seen it, give it a go. You'll probably be surprised. It holds a 9.1 rating from over 50,000 users on IMDB, so that tells you how amazing it is. So yeah, WATCH IT

3) I found my favourite hat and began a renewed obsession. It's quite a plain hat: grey and beanie style, but it's just great.
See, it's great.

4) Finally got more pictures up in my room and got my 3d Hobbit cover and my Iron Man 3 poster up. #winning

5) MERLIN CALENDAR AND SEASON 1 BOXSET FOR CHRISTMAS
Needs no more explanation of awesomeness.

6) I've got Thursdays and Fridays free this trimester at university so can hopefully get a job and contribute to petrol money/food bills for the house.

7) My hair is finally starting to go nice when left naturally. Although if I brush it, all hell breaks loose.
Curly hair!!!! And all I did was brush my fringe #winning

8) We found out Sarah has a boyfriend named Steven. And the best part? She genuinely thinks he's really ugly. I know looks aren't everything/ all that important, but surely you have to be physically attracted to your boyfriend in some way? And considering Sarah's room is covered in half naked 'hot' men I find this really hilarious

9) My dad got my mum the best Christmas present ever. Hamish the Highland Cow. And he's a pillow.

How awesome is Hamish? Pretty awesome.

10) This exchange from my family in the car about holidays:
Mum: "What about Holland, Brian says there's a good campsite there."
Lauren: "But I don't want to go to Holland! I want to go abroad!"
Mum: "Holland is abroad."
Sarah: "Er Mum, Holland's down south"
Mum: "Trust me, it's across the North Sea"
Sarah: "No.. that's Ireland."
Mum: "Ireland's on the other side of Scotland"
Dad: "I thought Holland was in France?"
Lauren: "Wait, are we going to Ireland?"
I've never laughed so much in the Zafira.

And now to the bad.

There's really only been two bad things happen and one of them has severely pissed me off.
I took an 'online' module because it seemed better than Plant Science (mainly because plants: boring, and because it was online compared to Plant Science's 9-5 Thursdays and Fridays)
However, it turns out the university lied to me! I have to go to a lecture on Monday mornings 10-12 for my module (which is called The psycho-social perspectives of science: Health, Illness and the Body by the way, and has lectures entitled "Social Inequalities and Health Status: The Social Context of Health and Disease", "The Rise of the Biomedical Model and Scientific Medicine" and my personal favourite: "Loss, Death and Dying". Unfortunately, I have absolutely no interest in the subject at all, and I've already decided I hated when my lecturer sent an email to an "extremely interesting" article on "Does Lead Poisoning Make Subjects Violent?". God I hope we get to test this on each other.
But aside from the existence of a lecture, it's timings mean that every second week it clashes with my tutorial for another module. All of my friends are in my tutorial group, so I don't want to change at the time when everyone's in the same groups from last year and has already got their friendship groups.

So yeah, suggestions for what to do would be nice.

And the other bad thing that I've been building suspense up to?
This:

I was trying to watch Snow White and the Huntsman, but it still had a security tag on it. So somehow I thought it would be a bright idea to use knives to lever the security tag out. It wasn't. I had a wee knife pushing the tag up while using a big knife to get under the tag and wiggle it out. I wiggled too hard, and sent the knife about a centimetre deep into my finger. Which doesn't sound like a lot, but trust me it is. Especially since it basically runs the length of my finger. I did have the finger just plastered up, but every time it got bent it would crack and bleed again, so I've had to immobilise it with proper dressings and surgical tape. And as bizarre as it sounds, you use your index finger a lot more than you think you do. Writing, typing, even flushing the loo (we've got button flushes instead of handles in the bathroom) is really difficult with my right hand. And Practical Biology on Wednesday isn't going to be much fun. Just so long as I'm not doing microbiology, wouldn't want it getting infected with e-coli or something...

And now I've freaked myself out.

So yeah, it's only been 2 weeks, and it's been pretty great. Although I did manage to spend £40, get reeeally drunk and end up walking home from Tollcross to George Street at 3.30am past policemen and everything while Fisher got a taxi because she'd lost me. Hopefully that doesn't happen again anytime soon.

Bring on the next 50 weeks
